Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind...it's The Butterfly Effect meets rom-com. Funnyman Jim Carrey and sweetheart Kate Winslet become a quirky little couple with their own personal mountain of problems. Not to mention, stars such as Elijah Wood, Mark Ruffalo, and Kirsten Dunst grace thee screen with their own little stories in this marvel of a movie.
The emotionally detached Joel Barish wakes up one morning not feelin' quite right. He ditches work and goes to Montauk not really knowing why. He comes across Clementine Kruczynski, a free spirit, with whom he strikes up a convo on their train ride. Little do they know, they are former lovers.
The blue hair. The hair is pretty much the main focus...
After a little bump in the road (they've been falling apart for a while and it ends when Joel basically calls Clem a whore...) Clementine hires the firm Lacuna, Inc. to erase him from her memory. When he finds out, Joel follows suit.
Despite the fragility of their relationship, as Joel travels through his memories he realizes he doesn't want Clem to ever leave his mind. Now the movie is primarily in Joel's mind and it's a race against time as the two hide in his deepest memories, trying to stop the erasing.
"Meet me in Montauk..."
Though they dig into the deepest, most humiliating memories, the lovers can't stop the process. Luckily, they meet again (this is at the beginning of the movie, on the train), realize what has happened, and decide to start again with a new relationship.

Watch this movie, you will fall in love. From the whirlwind romance to the brilliant soundtrack to the mind-bending visuals, this movie is A+ and one to watch countless times.
